In that way, he likes simple things. He, however, is anything but simple. His mind is complex, often circulating a few things at a time, whether it pertains to his studies or the judgments of his classmates. Dom has no problem controlling his thoughts, and has studied occlumency, and is therefore very secure in his thoughts. He tends to be rather judgmental and has no problems letting people know when he does not like them. Rather stubborn and determined, he knows what he likes and has his mind set on what he wants. A bit of a cynic, his criticisms are often a contrast to the more light-hearted commentaries provided by his sister. Appearance: Dom has dark blonde hair with streaks that get lighter if he spends too much time in the sun. His eyes are a murky blue, which reflect his calm nature and his fondness for lakes. His shoulders and arms are muscular from the times he spends swimming, and the rest of his body is average. He stands at 6’ (183cm) tall and weighs about 140, keeping him fairly average. However, slightly concerned with his appearance, Dominic keeps in shape, not obsessively, and cannot claim to be “cut” by any means. He takes his looks from his mother, which makes his skin a bit darker than his sisters. Posture: Dominic sits upright and has good posture for a boy his age and is not prone to slouching. He walks with a determined gait, walking with a purpose. Style: Dominic’s sense of style is also simple. He prefers plain t-shirts and jeans when he isn’t required to wear the uniform. Other: Dom has never been particularly smooth around women, and cannot claim to having much experience with them. He has never really found many he considers worthy of his time or thoughts. FAMILY: Mum: Katie Wood (neé Bell), 43, Former Gryffindor, Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee- Ministry of Magic. Dom doesn’t have any strong feelings towards his mother, but he much prefers her sister. Father: Oliver Wood, 43, Former Gryffindor, Broom Regulatory Control- Ministry of Magic. Again, Dom doesn’t have any particularly strong feelings towards his father. He loves him, but doesn’t go out of his way to spend time with him. Sibling: Ellicot Wood, 17, Gryffindor. Dom loves Elli more than anything or anyone and would do anything for her. Other: Jess Bell-Rosier, 49, Former Slytherin, Unemployed. Dom is fascinated by Jess and his uncle Peregrine. Despite the claims that Peregrine killed the mother of Jess and Katie, he also cares quite a bit for Dom. HISTORY: To say that the results of the sorting ceremony of 2016 came as a surprise to the Wood family would be an understatement. Though they had always had their suspicions about Dom, with the way that he got on with Jess. Jess Bell married Peregrine Rosier, the son of Evan Rosier. During the second wizarding war, Peregrine and Jess went into hiding in an attempt to escape the influence of the Death Eaters and Dumbledore’s Army, knowing that they would be torn apart by either side. Besides his fondness for that side of the family, Dom had never been quite as outgoing as his sister. He had always been one to be sulky and cross, with smirks instead of smiles. Despite the differences between the siblings, they were also very alike. Besides sharing a birthday, the two seemed to have an understanding of each other. Though Elli preferred the outdoors and pranks, Dom preferred studying. However, they always found common ground and a way to be together, especially after he almost accidentally drowned her in the lake. Dominic went out of his way to keep his sister safe and happy, no matter the cost. After being sorted, Dominic’s years at Hogwarts were fairly uneventful. He kept mostly to himself, only branching out for the sake of Elli, and kept focused on his studies, earning himself the attention of his professors. His proficiency for offensive spells was notable, and though he enjoyed studying them, he wasn’t particularly interested in Dark Magic, like many of his housemates. Despite the seemingly peaceful times in the wizarding world, Katie Bell, scarred from past events, took it upon herself to protect her children. Most of her paranoia had subsided, but both children could still recall hearing their mother screaming in the middle of the night more than once. During the summer after their fifth year, the family hosted an auror, a schoolmate of Katie and Oliver’s, who trained the children in Occlumency and resisting the Imperius Curse. Dominic found the topics fascinating and excelled at throwing off the Imperius Curse and Occlumency, and had the skills down by the next summer. He practiced every night, shutting out every thought and centering his thoughts on his being and the things he found secure enough to rely on.
