A lot of people don’t understand her sense of humor and her fondness for puns, especially bad ones, but she enjoys laughing and pulling pranks. Despite her upbeatness, her sense of reality is also notable. Something she got from her father, her sensibility, calmness, and level-headedness help her in stressful situations. Though she jokes, she always has a firm grasp on reality. Despite her outgoingness, Elli doesn’t make friends easily. Well, she makes acquaintances, but actually getting to “friend” level has proven quite difficult. Elli loves playing Quidditch more than a lot of things in life. She has been playing since she was very young, much to the joy of her parents, who, after Dom’s refusal to play, thought that neither of their children would inherit the love for the sport that brought them together. Her dedicated personality makes Transfiguration her best subject, allowing her to commit to the idea of forcing an object into something else. Appearance: Elli is average height and airs on the thinner side from her intensive Quidditch training. With a loose, natural curl to her blonde hair, Elli doesn’t spend much time on fixing her hair, except for special occasions. Her skin is fair and smooth, a genetic grace from her parents. She doesn’t wear much makeup, again, except for special occasions. Her eyes are hazel, usually tending towards light brown, but occasionally showing more green depending on the reflections of her surroundings. Elli has never been particularly vain, as she is quite pleased to step off the Quidditch pitch, covered in a thin layer of sweat and dirt with the occasional bug in her hair, and march off to class. Posture: Elli’s posture is graceful. Though she isn’t particularly clumsy or graceful, she holds herself well. Despite her occasional tomboy tendencies, her poise is more feminine. Style: Miss Wood prefers to wear light dresses or sweaters. Everything else is annoying. Especially shoes. Other: Though Elli frequently makes sexual references or jokes, she is actually quite innocent. FAMILY: Mum: Katie Wood (neé Bell), 43, Former Gryffindor, Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee- Ministry of Magic. Elli gets on very well with her mother, though Elli worries about her safety at times and her slight bouts of paranoia. Father: Oliver Wood, 43, Former Gryffindor, Broom Regulatory Control- Ministry of Magic. Elli has always been a “daddy’s girl,” and very much enjoys his company. Sibling: Dominic Wood, 17, Slytherin. Dom is Elli’s best friend. She would do absolutely anything for him. HISTORY: Elli always looked up to her brother. It was rather frustrating, however, when she went through the phase of copying his every move. He was too boring! All he wanted to do was swim in the lake or read books. Elli begged him multiple times to play Quidditch with her or at least run around the fields, but he wasn’t too keen on the idea. And he seemed cross whenever she tried to hang about with him. At one point, he actually shoved her, at which point she told her mother, arms crossed over her chest. With a grunt and a groan, Dom finally gave in and said they could play in the lake. He knew every corner of the lake, every rock, hole and patch of weeds. Elli had always been hesitant of the lake, after the story books her brother chose to read, detailing mermaids and grindylows. Little did she know that this lake didn’t have any of those creatures, that he really just wanted to scare her off so that he could have a place to himself. But on this day, he assured her that she should play in the lake with him, something she’d been longing for. When she finally splashed out to the middle, Dom ducked under the water and grabbed her leg, pulling her downwards towards the cavern. The amount of bubbles shooting up to the surface should have been the first sign, but he couldn’t see the panicked look on his sister’s face until the bubbles ceased to flow. At that point, undeveloped magic took over, rocketing the siblings to the surface, against the banks where Dom started screaming as he stared at the still face of his sister, so similar to his own. The rest was a blur as his mum performed a few quick charms, causing her daughter to sputter and cough. Dom rocked back on his heels, his heart changing instantly as a subconscious vow took root, to always protect his sister. Being a child, Elli was quick to trust her brother again, but she avoided the lake at all costs, convinced it had been a grindylow or mermaid. From then on, the two were inseparable until the sorting ceremony. Watching Dom be sorted into Slytherin was shocking, but she was sure that she would follow suit, despite her parent’s foresight and anticipatory congratulations. As the hat announced her house, she trudged towards the table, frowning across the room at her brother. She attempted to slip through with the Slytherins, but was herded back to the chatty Gryffindors. She cried the first night, and tried, once again, to find her brother, but ended up lost in the dungeons, where she spent the night behind a statue, only to be woken up by a ghost. After the first week, things got better as they attended a few classes together. They tried swapping tables to eat together, but neither the Slytherins nor the Gryffindors were too pleased about having the other at the table. After that, the two preferred to find somewhere else to eat together, at least once a day. Elli struggled to keep friends. She was friendly, and people thought she was funny, or at least interesting, but it was hard for her to let anyone get as close to her as her brother was. Despite the seemingly peaceful times in the wizarding world, Katie Bell, scarred from past events, took it upon herself to protect her children. Most of her paranoia had subsided, but both children could still recall hearing their mother screaming in the middle of the night more than once. During the summer after their fifth year, the family hosted an auror, a schoolmate of Katie and Oliver’s, who trained the children in Occlumency and resisting the Imperius Curse. Elli did better at throwing off the Imperius Curse, already being so stubborn and hard to control. She struggled, however, with Occlumency, mainly on the grounds that she didn’t see a need for it. She couldn’t realistically see herself needing it. She practiced, however, at the request of her parents and the encouragement of her brother. Note: I have received permission from the admins for Occlumency and the resistance of the Imperius Curse. I have left the possibility of other siblings open. Please contact me if you are interested.
