[rs=2] | Jessica (AKA Jess or Jessi) Nicole Greyback was born on the 12th of August. Whether or not she was really the daughter of the Fenrir or not does not really matter. He claimed her as his own simply because her mother had been with him. The night of her birth was a rainy and unusually cold one. Her mother was both terrified and ecstatic that she had given birth to a baby girl. Sloan (Jessica's mother) had hoped that she could live in peace with her child. She hadn't wanted a child, not by Greyback anyway. She was a young single lady and now she was stuck with one. But the girl made her unexpectedly happy. And for five years, they lived that way. Happy and undisturbed. No one can be happy forever. Just after Jessica's fifth birthday, her supposed biological father showed up. Sloan's worst fear had come true. Though she was a very good witch, she was unable to keep the werewolf from taking her daughter. He returned her a week later, bite marks on her arms from their “father's” attack. After that Fenrir was rarely seen. He never visited for a birthday and he sent the rare owl to let them know she had a new sibling. Jess was already showing magical talent. It might have been that the transformation (which was terribly painful in Jessi's opinion) or it might have simply been that she was getting to that age. Objects she wanted started coming to her without her getting up to get them. Cookies were coming out of cabinets and landing within her reach. Ever since Sloan had found out who the other children like her daughter were, she began making contact with the mothers. When Jess was seven-years-old, she finally started meeting some of her half-siblings. Though Jessica knew she was different, she wasn't fully aware that these people were like her. She was only seven, how could she? She knew they were relatives and that she was making new friends. As she grew older, she began to form bonds with her siblings, though. Not all of them were as close as she would have liked, but it was nice to have people around who understood what she had to go through every time there was a full moon. Transformations were horrible, and as Jessica grew older they got worse. As a baby werewolf, she had been limited to the back yard and that had worked out very well. Her younger self had thought that was adequate space. They lived in a country-like area so there wasn't much of a risk of her being seen or hurting anyone. Though Sloan had tried to keep her daughter's condition a secret in the wizard community, word had gotten out. As if she could keep it a secret since her child had the werewolf's last name. But as Jess grew older, she began escaping the yard and heading into forest areas. She would come back home with cuts and bruises and her mother would have to heal her up promptly. The young girl was afraid to go to school, but when she got her acceptance letter at Hogwarts, Sloan insisted that Jessica go. The girl needed some sort of normalcy in her life and it was her mother's hope that going to school would provide that. It was around this time that she began taking the Wolfbane Potion. Supposedly it would let her keep her humanity while still in wolf's form. For the most part it was working, but she was still out of control and came back injured most nights. She never hurt anyone else, however, which was a plus. At Hogwarts she was sorted into Gryffindor. She had two half-siblings already at the school, but they were sorted into Hufflepuff so Jess and her half-brother were so far the only two Greybacks sorted into the Loin House. That didn't mean she didn't have her other siblings show her around a few times. Jessica found that she adjusted well to the school life and was soon enjoying several of her classes. The only problem was that making friends was a little difficult due to her last name. She would forever hate her father because of that. Most people assumed she was a werewolf because of her father, but few asked. She felt humiliated at first but found that people adjusted to her quickly enough. Jessica quickly developed a knack for Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts. She was decent enough in potions that while she progressed through the years she thought she might one day be able to make the Wolfsbane Potion herself rather than relying on the Potions Master or her mother. She was absolutely dreadful at Muggle Studies and History of Magic, neither topic one she was really interested in. Or maybe it was just that she didn't like the classes, because when she discovered things on her own she was immensely entertained. She also discovered that she was probably the most clumsy werewolf she would ever meet, having the remarkable ability to trip over her own feet. In her fourth year Jessica started the process of dating. She found she was a complete flirt. She dated boys and girls, finding she had an attraction to both, but few relationships lasted very long. She found she loved Quidditch and flying. During the full moons she wandered out to the Forbidden Forest, even though she was fairly sure she wasn't supposed to be there, for the shift she would have to make. She tried to keep the fact that she was a werewolf from causing any problems, but she was a trouble-maker at heart anyway so she served detention more than a few times. She is going into her sixth year at Hogwarts and even with her little disability, she is very happy. |
