Four o'clock in the morning was a peaceful time at Hogwarts. Students and teachers were either fast asleep or panicking over assignments that were due in a few hours. Almost all the owls that had been let out at night for some freedom were back in the owlrey as the sun was starting to become brighter. Everything was quiet and peaceful... With the exception of at least one person. That person being Hogwart's trusty librarian, Bast Leander!
For her, four in the morning was the time to get the day started. Normally, she slept in her own little private corner of the library but she had other places where she was able to crash. To name a few, the Hufflepuff common room, the staff room, outside, empty classrooms and random hallways. All perfect for a good few hours of sleep. After a quick snack, Bast would then grab her wolfdog, Coplace, and bring him with her for her morning workout. By the time she arrived at the grounds, it was usually around four thirty.
Her morning workout consisted of push ups, climbing and running. Sometimes swimming if weather permitted it. These sessions normally lasted an hour to an hour and a half. Leaving just enough time to freshen up before heading to the Great Hall for breakfast. Bass slowed her running pace to check her pocket watch; it was now five twenty. She pocketed the device back into her shorts and returned to her normal speed. Wolfdog by her side, the woman changed course to go back towards the castle. They would arrive there in at least fifteen minutes if they kept up the pace. Her breathing was heavy but stayed constant. Bast could still run for quite a while yet.

Y'know what sucked about living in Hogsmeade and then working at school? Waking up at three in the morning every week day. And it was worse now because, with it only being the beginning of his new job here, Brent wasn't used to such an early start. It might help him if he didn't take so long to get up and ready to leave (right now, it was roughly and hour and forty-five minutes). The wizard did his best to be out of the house at four-forty in order to reach the castle via his broom at five-fifteen and then get inside before five-thirty. Another downside was that Brent was truly shitty flier and always had been so it took him longer than the average person to fly to work. And, and he got home again at five in the evening. That was nearly a whole twelve hours out of the house every weekday! It give him an extremely limited amount of free time if he wanted to get a decent night's sleep; this resulted in Brent practically giving up on sleep during the week and then catching up throughout the weekend. Maybe it would be easier if he stayed at the castle but, no, Brent wouldn't want that. Besides, he was only covering people's dumb lessons. They surely didn't think he was that 'important'.
Brent didn't bother was a 'thank you' to the guy at the gate who let him in and then snatched took his broom. A childish scowl contorted his features, causing his glossy lips to turn downwards unpleasantly. As he stormed up towards the entrance hall, Brent busied his hands with fixing his scarf and hair that had been messed up by the wind. He was tired, pissed off and ready to unleash his wrath on the students and teachers of Hogwarts. The job seemed to be bringing out his 'old man' side pretty well. However, he forced himself to at least refrain from glaring at the young woman he saw heading in the same direction. She had a wolfdog, which made him feel a little cautious about speaking to her, but he decided to go for it. "Hey, d'you have the time?" Brent called out before she could get too far ahead from him. Unfortunately social interaction was rather necessary at the present moment.

Did Bast really do this every morning? Yes, yes she did. Even on the weekends when she could open the library a bit later than usual. She simply just loved physical exercise. If it was up to her then she would have put a whole gym into the library but perhaps that was a bit too much. What sucked for her was that she wasn't really able to find a suitable training partner in Hogwarts. Not as many of the student and staff was as sporty as her and that sucked. She wanted to do weightlifting, punching. Shape up her boxing a bit but there was no one that she could do it with. Perhaps she'd have better luck with asking someone on the Quidditch team. Add a bit of sexual appeal, if necessary? One day.
Fishy focused back on her body and surroundings. Her lungs weren't burning for air but she was a tad bit thirsty. Her legs felt slightly tense and tired, nothing new. Lake, grass and castle could be seen all around her. Also not very new. Oh, wait. Person. She paid him no mind and kept her mind and body set on course. Happily, Coplace decided to be obedient and follow his owner. Otherwise he would have wanted to inspect the passerby. It looked like he would have a chance though as said person called out to, presumably, the librarian and her canine. She silently wondered what the guy wanted but jogged back towards him.
"Morning." She greeted as she was finally by his side. "I have time. So, what's up?" Bast walked at the man's pace. He seemed somewhat familiar, yet not really. Probably have seen him around the castle. She took advantage of the slowness to pull out her wand and get herself some water. Bast aimed it to her mouth, cast the non-verbal spell and drank up the water happily. Once thoroughly quenched, she aimed the stream of water over her head. She repeated these actions for her pet as well. The wand served its purpose and went back to its container, strapped safely around Bast's waist. She never went anywhere without her wand and had made a special place to put it for her workouts. Beter be safe than sorry, right?

Phew, he'd been heard. That was one less thing to grumpily brood over all day for no good reason whatsoever. Bonus: she'd jogged back to him instead of him having to walk faster in order to catch up. Now that he could see the woman's face, Brent thought that maybe they'd spoken before - probably only briefly. He usually didn't recognise people that he hadn't interacted with directly. Oh, but she was stupid. Either that or she'd misheard him. (C'mon, they were practically the same thing anyway.)
Not impressed, Brent frowned as the brunette drunk water straight from her wand and then let her beast have some. Wouldn't it be easier and more pleasant to conjure a cup of water? He was convinced that it would be, but forced himself to hold his tongue over the matter as it shouldn't be any of his business. Brent let out a sigh and folded his arms over his chest. "I just want to know what the time is." He spoke slowly to ensure he'd be understood because today was one those days where the wizard would constantly be on edge; making it extremely easy for him to snap and then lose his temper over silly things.

Bast shook her head a few times to get rid of excess water, kinda just like a dog or cat. Not exactly polite or very civilized but Bast cared for neither of these traits. Most of the time at least. Just because she didn't care for the manners society deemed 'right' didn't mean she threw all of those rules out of the window. No, she had her own set of rules and some of them had been adopted from society's rule book. Sometimes she followed society's rule book just because she wasn't in the mood to be arrested. Things like practicing nudism, taking off her shirt in public and punching people. No matter how tempting it was. And, trust me, it got really tempting.
Clearly the guy was pissy and seemed to have a problem with her but Bast paid it no mind. For one, there was no use getting upset and, two, she knew that she could easily beat him in a one on one fight. Not sure if she would win if it was a magic duel but perhaps it was worth a try... "Ah. Sorry dude, I misheard ya. I tend to do that with the blood rushing in my ears and stuff. Lemme check." Out came her bronze pocket watch. "It's five twenty-five." A small grin crept up on her face as she told him the time and put away her time device. "Oh, hey. You studied at Hogwarts, right? What was your graduating year?"
