SKY LESTRANGE
[atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true][bg=200000] &&.The green common room in the dungeons was an unnaturally boisterous place today. Someone was celebrating a birthday and cake was popular enough with the majority of her house that near everyone was enjoying themselves. As a general rule, Sky would've been in the thick of it, providing some sort of entertainment for herself and her peers. Today, however, she was in a mood. The chipper demeanor of the average party-goer was enough to make the girl grit her teeth and reach for her wand. Of course, it didn't help that the party had woken her from a pleasant nap, and the noise had kept her from falling back into a comfortable sleep. Many of her house-mates were intelligent enough to step aside as she marched through the common room. The look of murder in her eyes was generally enough to give almost anyone pause. As a general rule, Sky would throw a curse on the spot if someone were to annoy her. However, if anyone knew what the Lestrange girl was capable of, it was her own house. While she usually acted on impulse, there were occasions where her revenge was planned. Someone almost always wound up in the infirmary, and Sky had been known to be rather creative with whatever punishment she decided to dish out. Needless to say, she was allowed passage out the common room door without incident. She didn't rule Slytherin, by any stretch of the imagination. People simply knew to give her a wide birth when she was obviously angered. The trip through the corridors of Hogwarts were, unremarkably, quiet. Irritation seemed to radiate off of Sky in waves. Of the few people she did pass, none seemed willing to start a fight in the middle of the school. She walked on. The second Sky exited the castle and took a deep breath of fresh, wild air, she felt better. For a moment, running back down the stairs and grabbing her broom seemed like a good idea. Then she thought of all the faces in the common room with their loud music and general happiness and disregarded the urge as stupid. Instead, she simply allowed her legs to begin walking. She could go to the forest. There were always friends there. The herd of thestrals, a centaur or two, even something she could throw a curse at would be better than going back to her dormitory. A moment later, she was surprised to find herself at the quidditch pitch. Well, I suppose I particularly want to fly right now. Well, sorry, it's not happening, she thought at herself. However... A staircase to the top of the stands was just to her left. She walked in, taking many of the stairs two at a time. For some reason, it made her feel taller, and everyone wanted to feel taller. A moment later, she emerged into the even fresher air at one of the highest reaches of the stadium. For a moment, she imagined her last quidditch game. It had been against Ravenclaw and Slytherin had a beautiful victory. She could still feel the wind in her hair and the bat, heavy in her hand, could still hear the sound of a bludger being redirected and the whistle calling the end of the game. The sport was perfect. With her favorite pastime filling her thoughts, Sky lay on one of the benches. With her face warmed by the sun, she drifted back into a gentle slumber. here's to us |
