The lawn probably wasn't the post practical place to do any sort of homework, but ignoring the beautiful day was just impossible. So after staring out the window for an hour, Jess decided to take her work outside. She found a nice place on the grass under a lone tree and got to it. Well, sort of. She got as far as taking the required sixth year Potions book out of her bag, but it sat unopened on her lap while she looked around her. There were several students outside, but what drew her attention was the forbidden forest. She wasn't too far from it and the thought of going in just for a little while nagged at her brain. She knew she could get into trouble if she got caught, but that wasn't really a new thing for Jessica. She didn't have much of a filter for her actions. Usually if she wanted to do something, she just did it. But there were so many students out who might see her. She turned her attention toward them to try and get her mind off of the desire to head into the trees.
Most of them were going about their own business. The only people who really paid her any mind anymore about her last name were first years who actually paid attention to history. Jessica felt like it had been a sort of uphill battle trying to get over the drama of her last name, but she seemed to be doing pretty well. She was still a smiley, clumsy, sort of woman and that worked for her in a way. In any case no one seemed to be watching her specifically. Everyone was enjoying the nice day.
“Screw it,” Jess mumbled, she stuffed the book back into her bag and stood up. She flung the bag over her shoulder. Audience and consequences or not, Jess couldn't stand the temptation anymore. She gave one last glance around and headed off stopping once she got past the first few rows of trees. It would be great if there was a path or something, but there wasn't. And now that she was there, she wasn't exactly sure what to do. So she started walking parallel to the tree line so she wouldn't get too lost. Unfortunately, Jessica was Jessica. She tripped over a twig and fell, creating a small tear in the knee of her jeans. “Shoot,” was all she could manage to say.
Note: Sorry it's kind of a crappy starter post. But yay my first real thread here! Outfit: Because I felt like using polyvore. PS I have aweful taste so my characters usually do too.

James wanted some excitement and he’d be able to finish off the homework later with no problems. James didn’t bother putting on his normal school robes just the Hogwarts shorts, pants and shoes he didn’t feel like wearing the other things when he was just going to talk around the lawns and nothing more.
James tucked his wand away so it would be comfortable as he walked out of the castle; looking around he could see a few people but none that he recognized well none that he would strike up a conversation at least. James sighed to himself as he continued walking he wasn’t sure what to do today but he hoped that something came up that would be exciting. As James continued walking he spotted the forbidden forest; it seemed to draw him in. James knew that the forest was of limits to students but that didn’t stop him for exploring the forest. James remembered exploring it a few times and each time was different.
James grinned to himself as he decided there and then that he would just enter the forest and have a look around; he’d have his wand for protection because there were creatures inside the forest that would attack a student. James entered the forest and continued walking in deeper and deeper. James heard a female’s voice that sounded familiar to him as continued walking he hurried his pace as he discovered the person in question. “Jess are you alright?” James asked as he knelt down beside her with a concerned look on his face. James waited for a response from Jess before doing anything else. [/style] |

Hopefully no one saw her little fall. She was in a forest that was off limits after all. Not that anyone would have been surprised if they'd seen the situation. Jessica wasn't sure how she could be so clumsy and still be alive. She spent a lot of time in the Hospital Wing and other times reading books about healing spells from the library. Oh, there was more to Jess than just a tendency to be ungraceful, but when moments like this happened she felt like her clumsiness was a very dominant part of who she was. At least she was used to things like this. She wasn't badly hurt anyway.
Jessica wasn't lucky enough for her hopes to be true. She didn't want anyone to see her fall, but if someone had to see her on the ground, at least it was someone she was familiar with. Despite their sort of weird friendship, she was glad that it was James that was there. For one, he wasn't someone who was going to get her into trouble for being out in the forest. Unless of course they both got caught, but she didn't think anyone else would be out here. No one really had a reason to come out here. She was actually a little surprised to see her house mate in the forest, but she knew she shouldn't have been. James also had a knack for getting into trouble.
“Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks.” She put a smile on her face and looked at her knee, assessing the damage. As she thought it really wasn't anything too bad. Just a little scrape. She moved her leg to make sure that was fine. Just a little sore. Everything seemed to be fairly okay. “That could have been a lot worse.” As she got to her feet she could feel a little blood running from the scrape, but she didn't worry much about it. “What are you doing out here anyway? I figured I'd be the only one who'd be wandering around out here.”

James kept kneeling down as he was concerned about Jessica; they did have a weird friendship and a sort of past since they both arrived at Hogwarts. People would assume that James and Jessica would completely hate each other because of their family history however they would be wrong in fact James liked Jessica very much they seemed to have this sort of friendship that could go either way depending on each other’s mood at the time; so when James saw Jessica down like this it really did concern him he wanted to make sure that she was alright he smiled at her words.
James wouldn’t be the type of person to go get a Gryffindor into trouble however if Jessica happened to be a random Slytherin that he didn’t practically like then it would be different story altogether James would most likely use magic to pin the Slytherin and then go running to get a professor but it was Jessica and thus his attitude towards her was different. James was glad when Jessica said that she was fine it meant that she didn’t fully hurt herself which was a good thing; though he was wondering why she was out here but then again curiosity got the better of some people.
James smiled back before pushing the thoughts he had to the back of his mind. “I’m glad.” James replied back as Jessica informed him that she was indeed alright. “You could have caused some real damage to yourself.” James explained as he stood up from the ground shortly after Jessica did. “I actually got bored roaming around the castle grounds and the forest looked inviting so I came out here to explore for a bit. What about you? What brings you here?” James asked with a curious look on his face. “You sure you’re alright?” James added in as he fell silent while he waited for a response from Jessica. [/style] |

Jessica breathed a laugh. It wasn't anything funny, but it was a little amusing. “Tell me something I don't know. I could cause real damage to myself just walking,” she joked. Even if she made her voice sound light and teasing, she knew that the statement was true. If Jessica never wanted to get hurt, she should probably limit herself to sleeping, eating, and class. But that just wasn't going to happen. She preferred to live her life instead of spending it trying to be careful. If she hurt herself along the way, so be it. Still, it was nice that James was concerned for her. She was glad that he didn't hold who her father was against her. Fenrir had done some horrible things and she expected the whole Potter/Weasley family to hold it against her. But most of them if not all had seemed to look past that and realize that she really had nothing to do with the past. The fact that she'd been sorted into Gryffindor probably helped. A lot.
In any case, she hadn't expected to be good friends with James Potter, but it had happened. They had enough in common that it just came easily. Their relationship on the other hand had not come easy. They'd been on and off, but always good friends. She was lucky in that aspect. She figured the problem with them was that they were both huge flirts and Jess herself tended to be a hypocrite and get jealous. In any case, it never seemed to hurt their friendship, which was just great because with James and his pranks, Jessica didn't think she'd want to be on his bad side.
She tried to formulate a clear answer in her head for why she had come into the forest. The truth was, she just wanted to. “I couldn't seem to study so I thought a small adventure was in order.” That explanation seemed to be the only way she could put how she had felt before entering the forest into words. The weird itch that she had to just get up and do some wandering around. Maybe it was simply just because it was forbidden, but something made her want to walk in the forest.
“Yes, I'm sure I'm fine.” She gave him a smile. “Well now that you're here would you like to join me? I'm not entirely sure where I'm going, but it could be fun. Besides, you really just came in here to talk to me. Just admit it.” She said teasingly and stuck out her tongue at him. She knew the chances of him having known that she was in here were slim. She hadn't seen him around when she had come into the forest. But she liked to tease him anyway.

James had wondered what the reason was that brought Jessica to the forbidden forest though; he smiled when he heard her laugh about the whole situation it meant that she did in fact hadn’t hurt herself so badly that James would have to carry her back. “That’s good if you did hurt yourself badly I’d be carrying you back to the castle by now unless you want me to kiss it better.” James explained with a smile on his face.
They had a weird relationship; one moment they could be dating the next they weren’t. James believed the main reason was they both loved to flirt and all and this didn’t surprise him at all. James knew that he and Jess had a lot in common and this didn’t worry him at all even if her family and his family had a lot of history he could see pass that and it helped that she was in Gryffindor as well. James was surprised that they remained really good friends; he still cared for her deeply probably more than she would know he smiled at that thought as he turned his attention back to Jessica.
James smiled when Jessica told him the reason behind her adventure into the forest. “Oh yes I really did come into the forest just to see you.” James replied back with a laugh; they were teasing each other now which was a good sign. “I would gladly join you besides you need me to protect you.” James teased back as he waited for Jessica to show him which way they were going. “So which way we going?” James asked as he looked around the forest; he was glad that he had his wand with him in case anything bad happened to them while they were exploring the forest. It was nice to be outside, particularly in the forest. She just felt better for the moment now that she was out here. Besides, if she had to have someone with her, James Potter was a good choice. He was funny and smart, and attractive, couldn't leave out that last one. Even if their families had an weird past, she couldn't help but count James as a friend. Besides, Jessica didn't really count herself as Fenrir's daughter, though she knew everyone else did. The fact of the matter was that Fenrir hadn't really been around that much. And Jess knew that her mother hated the guy. It didn't seem to matter. Her first year at Hogwarts people were afraid of her even though she had two older half-siblings in school already. She supposed it just took some getting used to. Jessica was doing alright now anyway.
“Oh you can kiss me and make anything better whenever you want, James Potter.” She smirked at him as she teased, though even she wasn't sure if she was really joking or not. Flirting came natural to her, sometimes not even realizing that she was doing it. But she was definitely flirting with James today. Maybe it was because they just had so much fun together or maybe it was because they were out in a forest on an adventure of sorts, but Jessica couldn't stop flirting with the seventh year.
Jessica smiled. “I knew you came in here just to see me. Let's face it, I'm irresistible to you.” She laughed. She really didn't think that highly of herself but teasing was just a thing they did. So she went with it. She giggled a little at the idea of him protecting her. Not because it was particularly funny, but because that was what guys were supposed to do. They protected the little girls. Even though they both knew that with her father as a werewolf, she'd been through enough herself. Dramatically, she leaned against a tree and hid her face with her hands. “It's so scary!” She teased. “Protect me Mr. Potter, protect me!” She stuck her tongue out again and put her hands down before looking around her. All directions had possibilities, but she pointed a little deeper in the forest and started walking. “This way. I have a good feeling about this direction.” She gave him a smile. “So how is the year going so far? One more and you're out of here.”

James was looking for a chance to explore the forbidden forest this year and he was glad that he would be exploring it with Jessica it meant that they could also be together away from the other students for a change; though James just hoped that the creatures that lived in this forest wouldn’t attack them but he couldn’t predict that and if it happened they both had their wands to protect them.
James just grinned at the words that Jessica spoke to him they were teasing each other now which was nothing new on their part. “I might just have to do that you know.” James replied back as he looked around the part of the forest they were in just for a split moment. James wasn’t paranoid or anything he just was keeping a look out just in case. James always flirted with women it was just the way he was; though with Jessica it seemed different to him. James always enjoyed his time with Jessica they always had so much fun when they were together as well you’d never know what would happen.
James turned his attention back to Jessica when she began speaking to him again. “What can I say; you pull me towards you.” James explained with a grin on his face. James watched as Jessica leaned in against the tree and pretended to be scared. “Don’t worry the big scary monsters won’t hurt you anymore.” James replied back. “Or I could leave you here in the dark forest all alone without me to protect you.” James continued to tease Jessica hoping that he would at least get some reaction from her. “Well then after you boss.” James said as he followed Jessica deeper into the forest. The school year had barely started and already Jess and James were back at flirting. It was nice, actually. She was glad that they could stay friends even when they weren't together. She always wondered why they kept breaking up, until they were together and she remembered that their flirting wasn't limited to just each other. Jessica knew it was all innocent (for the most part anyway) but she still had a tendency to get jealous. She bit on her bottom lip when he said he just might have to kiss her. She had only partially been teasing. Being near James often did fix a lot of things, at least temporarily. She liked when she was able to forget things and just be normal.
Of course, Jessica wasn't normal. Her father had tried to kill James' father. And besides that fact, Jessica was, like her father, a werewolf. He had turned her when she was very young. On the full moon, the Forbidden Forest was probably one of the least dangerous places for her (and others), but on normal nights, she could be as vulnerable as the next student. And like any young girl, she blushed at the thought of kissing James. “I guess we'll have to see where the day goes then. If I get injured I might just take you up on that.” She smirked at him and looked around the forest.
She laughed when he said that he could just leave her there. If a full moon was coming, she probably wouldn't have been in any real danger. She'd be walking deeper into the forest straight away to make sure she didn't hurt anyone else. But she wouldn't be turning into a creature at night, and even though she was very adventurous, she had to admit that this would be more fun with James by her side. “I don't think that will be necessary.”
Walking was a little bit of a challenge. They weren't on a path and Jessica was naturally a clumsy person, but she wasn't doing so bad so far. She heard the twigs snap and leaves crunch beneath her feet. “So are you excited for this being your last year?” She tried to make conversation as they walked.
