I see you found your way, well I’d hope so at least or else I’m not sure how you found this parchment. If you’re here then by now you should know what class this is, because well no one else teaches out here. Anywho, I am Professor Luna Scamander. CoMC is a full term course, with six lessons, one each month. There will be six quizzes, one at the end of every lesson, a midterm at the end of lesson three, and then there will be a final, which will go over all the information you’ve learned. They are to be handed in via private parchment, and expected to be on time. Failure to do so will sadly result in -10 from your house. Please keep in mind students, that this class is an elective and it is a privilege for you to be here. I don’t care who you are outside of this, well clearing, but it doesn’t matter. I will not pass you just because you’re a great seeker, is that clear? I’ve had students in the pass who try to use this as leverage, and it does not work. Grades will work as so; Passing Grades O - Outstanding 90%-100% E - Exceeds Expectations 80%-89% A - Acceptable 70%-79% Failing Grades P - Poor 60%-69% D - Dreadful 50%-59% T - Troll 0%-49% All quizzes will be multiple choice, and midterm/final will be an essay. It’s not very often, but occasionally I do assign homework. It really depends on the class as a whole. If everyone is here and on time, then there will be no homework at the end of that lesson. I have also taken the liberty of breaking down the percentages for you: 15% is allocated to quizzes, 30% to the midterm, and the final is worth 55% of your final grade, so do well and pay attention. You must bring the following materials to class every time unless instructed otherwise; Lessons 1 through 3 - Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Lessons 4 through 6 - The Monster Book of Monsters If a quill and parchment are needed for a lesson, I will give you fair warning. As we will be spending most of our time out around and in The Forbidden Forest, I don’t see much point in bringing them with you every day unless you feel like making an attempt at taking notes. Rules for my class are as follows; You will be on time. I allow 10 minutes of leeway for the first class in order for your to find your way here. You need to bring your materials, though that should be a given. It’s not hard to carry a book, unless well you don’t know how to handle the book then I can see where you might have some troubles. I expect you all to behave like young adults, so that means no bullying, no teasing, no taunting, et cetera. If I see any of this, I swear to Merlin that I will send your little behind off to the Headmaster and deduct points from your house. Be kind, be courteous, and please for the love of crumple horned snorkacks, pay attention! I hate repeating myself. If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask. And again, welcome to Care of Magical Creatures! thanks brooklyn from caution |
