Love It ;; Live It The halls of Hogwarts were bustling with students rushing to get to class. In between the books, the sweat and the brushing of cotton jumpers and blazers was fifth year, Zillah Thomas, trying to blend in. This was something she didn't exactly do regularly. Usually she loved attention when she could get it, but today was different. Today she was sneaking. As a fifth year at Hogwarts she should have been going to class every day. She should have been studying for her OWL's every night. She should have been taking things seriously. Instead, Zilah goofed off, flirted, listened to music, and today skipping history of Magic to meet Aria. As a sixth year Aria didn't have to be anywhere and meeting a friend wasn't a big deal. She had already passed her OWL's. That was the trouble most of the time. Most of the kids in Zilah's year didn't seem to like her that much. So instead, she trailed around her brothers and their friends, who she eventually made her own. Like a fish in its school, Zilah pushed down the corridor until she met with the Great Hall. Then she broke out of the current and watched it carefully for her friend, and any professors waiting to push her back into the current and into a classroom. Word Count: 218

with all due respect, tell me, what is death if life is just a bitch? | Aria walked through the halls on her way up from the common room. She passed all the younger students as they rushed to classes or to the library or to wherever it was they were going. For some reason, Aria wasn't as worried. Perhaps it's because there wasn't as many older kids in the school as there was last year. Aria was one of the older ones, even though there was a whole year ahead of her. But, she was a sixth year. Her OWLs were done, and she didn't have to worry about much until next year. She was in the clear - at least for now. Next year would be a whole different story.
Today, Aria was disgusted with herself. She woke up and was in a very pink mood, even though she hated the color. So, she put on one of her only pink shirts - a cute button up with half sleeves - and her pink wedges. Of course, she had jeans on too, but that wasn't important. What was important is the fact that she was wearing pink. Everyone knows Aria hates the color pink. So why was she wearing it? Maybe something special would happen today.
But, as of right now, Aria was on her way to meet her friend Zillah. Aria hadn't seen much of the fifth year since the beginning of the school year, and it just so happened that Aria had a free period and Zillah wanted to skip her class. When Aria made it up to the ground floor, she searched for her friend. When she finally saw her, Aria grinned. It looked as if Zillah was trying to blend in. Aria just had to make her stand out if it was the last thing she did. "HEY! Zillah! Over here!" Aria yelled over the crowd of younger years who were scurrying from place to place. Aria made her way over to Zillah with a silly grin on her face. "Sorry, looked like you were trying to be discreet." Aria took the bag off of her shoulder and placed it on the ground at her feet and leaned against the wall. "How was your summer?"

The sound of her name was like fine china dropping to the floor. Typical, loudmouth, Aria. Why Zilah even tried to be sneaky was beyond her. "Sorry, looked like you were trying to be discreet." Aria said as she approached. Zilah gave a loving glare, "Yeah, I was, thanks for the help." she laughed "If I get spotted skipping again, they'll have me dangling over the Black Lake as mermaid bait!". The year had only just started and Zilah was already skipping classes. Zilah cringed a little thinking of her mother's voice screeching into her ear about the importance of learning and how things could be so much worse than enduring a history of magic class. Zilah knew history, it was all she ever heard about. The Dark Lord, the murder of Lavender Brown, her mothers childhood friend and countless others inside these very halls. Her mother could always get very caught up in the past. Surprising for someone whose hobby was looking into the future. "How was your summer?" Aria inquired. Zilah gave a quick shrug, "painful mostly." she said , her brain still caught around her mother's' constant lectures. "Better off when I got to spend time with my dad, but he works a lot. Mum just spent most of the time yelling at me and the boys" . Zilah and her brothers seemed to just stroll into adventures, which was something she loved. her mother on the other hand not so much. "One day we caught a few pixies and put them in mum's cookies jar. She spent an hour fishing them out of the cupboards!" Zilah laughed, "Dad didn't fancy that one too well, but it was worth it, how about you, your summer any good?"

with all due respect, tell me, what is death if life is just a bitch? | Aria listened as Zilah said they'd have her hanging over the black lake if they caught her skipping. Aria herself used to never skip class up until her fourth year, and it was terrifying the first couple of times. But now it was just natural to her. "If any teacher says something about you skipping, we'll say I'm tutoring you in a class that you really need help in." she said and shrugged. "Everyone knows that your mum makes you learn more about history than is even taught in the course." Aria kind of chuckled. If her parents were so uptight about her learning all about the history of magic than about things that really mattered, like Defense Against the Dark Arts or Potions, Aria would probably be just as worried about skipping the class as Zilah.
Pixies in the cookie jar? That was great! Aria always liked hanging around her father too, mainly because she wasn't "Daddy's Little Sweetheart", but she could still get what she wanted. No, Daddy preferred the littlest sister. At home, it seemed like Aria was the least important sibling, what with her brother about to graduate and her little sister being little miss perfect, Aria was just kind of there.
"Eh, summer was okay. Hung out with my muggle friends a lot, went to a couple of their parties. Same old same old." Aria shrugged. She didn't really have much of an interesting life outside of Hogwarts. They still lived in a muggle neighborhood which was really weird for Aria, cause she had to explain to her muggle friends that she and her siblings went off to boarding school every year and had to deny having her friend's parents try to convince her parents that public school was okay. "Mum and Dad made a big deal over my brother and sister having to do OWLs and NEWTs in the same year though. That was interesting." Aria said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

"Muggle parties!"Zilah exclaimed. She had never been to one before, but really wanted to go. The thing with muggles was they didn't have magic so in order for things to be altered for them, they need a lot of drugs and a lot of booze. "Oh you have to take me sometime!" she said excitedly. Both of Zilah's parents were half bloods and didn't really preoccupy themselves with a lot of muggle, ideas places or objects. The most of the non wizarding world Zilah got to see was her grandparents house, but this contained no more than television, computers, and cinnamon raisin cookies. Sometimes Zilah felt bad for Aria, being the underdog of the family. This was something else she had never experienced, as she spent all her time getting in trouble with her brothers. It was a rare event when Zilah or her brothers sat on any kind of pedestal by themselves, whether it be a high or low one. "It gives you more time to screw off I guess." said Zilah trying to see the light of things. The halls were starting to clear now, no longer where there good students flowing through to get to class. They were all where they were supposed to be, doing things they were supposed to do. That would never be Zilah. "Lets do something fun!" Zilah said with a smile, "I haven't made trouble with you in a whole two months!"

with all due respect, tell me, what is death if life is just a bitch? | Aria laughed when Zilah got excited about the muggle parties. Yes, they were quite different. Muggles have all kinds of alcohol and other.. drugs at their parties. Whereas magical folk needed only firewiskey or another potent drink and they were fine. And it was really fun to mess with the muggles when they were drunk with some of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Of course, she did it ever so carefully so that they would never know anything about what was going on.
"Oh yes! They're so fun to mess with! If you ever want to come to one I'll make sure to bring you over Christmas break or something." That would certainly be interesting, bringing another witch, who had never really been around muggles much, to a muggle party. Oh, it would be something.
Aria watched as the last couple of students ran past, in a hurry to not miss their class probably, and shrugged. She was used to being lower than her other two siblings. Gave her an excuse if her parents ever found out she drank or partied the way that she did. Although, she didn't much care to talk about it, the situation with her and her siblings. It didn't seem necessary to dwell on things that couldn't be changed.
Something fun? Hm, something fun. Well, Aria did have a bottle with some firewhiskey in it, but she was saving that for later. So, what could the two do on their first day together? "That is a really good idea.." she said, and was quite deep in thought. What could the two possibly do? They could charm some things whenever people walked by. That just sounded childish, though.
Aria's train of thought was still on partying. It was the very beginning of the school year, maybe Aria and Zilah could throw a party. That'd be great! A party. Aria looked at the younger girl with a sideways grin on her face. "Let's throw a party!" She said and stood up straight. "In the room of requirement! That would be so awesome!"

Zilah raised an eyebrow, "A party... in the room of requirement" she let the idea roll on her tongue and around her brain. After a few seconds of silence Zilah stood up with her friend and gave a wide smile, "I love it!" she exclaimed excitedly, "But how are we going to get the word out, without the entire school finding out?" she inquired, "I mean having a party in the room of requirement... that's a pretty big deal isn't it?" In her five years at Hogwarts Zilah had never been to the room of requirement, she knew it was there threw wide spread stories in the school and from her own family but she had never really had a need for it. How do you just walk up to a wall and think "Hey, why don't you become something cool so i can see what you do". With a purpose maybe now Zilah could go to the room and experience what everyone else talked about.but even with a need and purpose, in the back of her head, this seemed to be a big plan that would need a lot of thought and effort, and that just wasn't something Zilah had on a daily basis.
