there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
The sun was high within the morning sky, making the day start off already hot. Though Dominique was definitely not complaining considering it had been raining rather frequently as of late. She could definitely do with a little bit of sun, especially since it meant she would finally get to enjoy one of her days off outdoors. Having woke up a few hours ago, with the sounds of the birds chirping outside her bedroom window. It was always a much better sound then hearing the pitter patter of rain against the window pane. Even though she had been awake for a few hours, she was still lazing about her single bedroom apartment in her pajama's. She didn't have any grand plans for the day, just a few errands she had to run before her work week begun. In fact, she was currently sitting in her living room, enjoying a nice cup of tea waiting for her mother's visit. It wasn't as though her mother had called ahead of time to say she was coming but Dominique had grown accustom to her mother stopping by early in the morning to check in with her. Ever since Dominique had gotten a place of her own, where her mother could no longer keep a constant eye on her after her accident, Fleur had taken too coming over to make sure she was alright. It didn't matter how many times Dominique would reassure her mother that she was doing much better, the older woman still worried and naturally it was well within her right.
Pushing those thoughts from her mind though, Dominique took a sip from her tea and look around her quaint little apartment. She still remembered Fleur's reaction when she had brought her to show her this place. She hadn't liked it one bit, claiming it was much to small but Dominique had loved it for that exact reason. There was nothing grand about it, but it felt homey and that was exactly what she wanted. The kitchen had your basic appliances with just enough room to move around and it had plenty of cupboard space. Dominique didn't require a dining room which worked out well because there was an island with a sitting area on one side that she preferred anyways. The living room wasn't large but held all her stuff nicely and the single bedroom was just big enough for her bed and her desk. It did have a walk in closet though, which was just another selling feature for the young girl. The bathroom was the next best part, with its jacuzzi tub and a separate shower, it had everything a girl could ask for. Even a small balcony that she could sit out on, during days like this particular one. It was a place for Dominique to call home and it was her own, something she was extremely proud of. After all the long hours she had been putting in at the Ministry of Magic lately, this place was exactly what she needed.
Dominique adored her job at the Ministry of Magic, it doesn't matter to her that she is still a trainee. Becoming a Hit Witch isn't something that can be accomplished over night, it takes time and its still hard work. Hard work that she gets paid a fair salary to do, though that is hardly the reason she does it. Being a Hit Witch has actually made her feel important as though she is giving back and that has always been something that has been important to her. The one aspect of working at the Ministry of magic, is something Dominique hasn't quite determined if its a perk or a downfall, is the fact that she sees Kaden Lestrange on a nearly daily basis. The Ministry of Magic is a rather large building, filled with all kinds of different witches and wizards but some how she still manages to run into the one man she isn't quite sure how he fits into her life. On a good day she can't stop thinking about him, from the sexiness of his smile that can make her melt to the air of cockiness that surrounds him. Though all her thoughts about him are not all good for he is the one man that irritates her more then anything else in her life. She really wished that she could have just kept ignoring him throughout her time at Hogwarts, but he wouldn't have that. Just like a Lestrange to not like being ignored especially by a member of the opposite sex.
Muttering a slight curse to herself for her mind trailing to Kaden once again, Dominique finished off her tea then rose to rinse out her cup. Her mother would have usually arrived by now and since she hadn't Dominique decided to get her day started with. Once her cup was rinsed out, she returned to her bedroom and got ready. Dressing in a pair of skinny jeans, with a light flowing blue shirt and finally a pair of blue sandals, she grabbed her bag and was on her way. Her hair cascading down her back in a semi curly state, her natural state because she wasn't lucky enough to get her mother's straight hair. Coming to a halt at the cross walk, Dominique tucked a few stray hairs behind her ear, debating on which direction she wanted to go first. With nothing overly exciting to do she was by far in no rush to return home, wanting to enjoy the nice weather while it lasted. When the light finally changed, she cross the road finally deciding to had in the direction of the muggle Farmers Market. Dominique always enjoyed fresh vegetables and herbs rather then processed ones. Being a fairly decent cook herself, she just found that it added more flavor to the dishes she prepared when everything was fresh. The market was much busier then the streets were with the need to weave her way around the people that were bustling about. Managing to snag herself a couple bags full of great deals Dominique turned to begin heading on with her other errands. Pausing for a moment when she thought she recognized the back of the man in front of her. However, when he turned around she felt quite foolish for it wasn't anyone she knew. Muttering a small apology then cursing herself once again for thinking of Kaden she continued on down the street. Stopping by a local cafe to grab herself a cool beverage, with her hands now overly full she struggled with the door but finally managed to get it open. Finding herself back outside, she turned to make her way down the street once again but instead came face to face with the object of her affection and the man behind her over active thoughts. Kaden Lestrange. "Kaden?" there was no missing the curiousness in her voice as she looked at him. Not only because she didn't want to make a fool out of herself, since she had already mistaken someone else for this very man once already that day, but also because this was the last place she'd expect to find this particular man.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 363636; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]you’re the broken one but i’m the only one who needed saving. Kaden rolled out of bed and promtply started swearing. He’d left the window open and the light pretty much blinded him. He’d been up drinking half the night with a few guys and he was feeling the after efects today. Groaning he turned over and grabbed his wand, performing a quick hang over spell he was thankful he’d learned in 6th year, he started searching for clothes. Only a few months ago he’d purchsed this new place. he’d managed to convince his mother that, being 22, he was entitled to a place of his own. It hadn’t been easy, but luckily Alecto was somewhere in the asian continent so she couldn’t do much about the fact. So he’d found himself a rather well appointed bachelor pad not far from the ministry. He was pretty impressed with his taste in picking the place out too. It was the penthouse sweet on the top of a pretty impressive building, the entry had a large chrystal chandelier, there were three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Plus a giant kitchen with an indoor grill. Finding a pair of sweats he tossed them on over a fresh pair of boxers. Moving through to the living room he sighed to himself as he flopped down on the couch. Rubbing a hand over his face he waved his wand and caught the pop that came out of the fridge. Lighting up a smoke he began trying to figure out what he needed to do with his life that day.
A few minutes later, after finishing up his hangover cure, Kaden pulled himself up off of the couch. Jumping in the shower quick he scrubbed himself up. Wrapping a towel around his waste he made his way back to his room. Grabbing a pair of jeans, and a black t-shirt he threw them on before adding some cologne. He didn’t really have much to do today. Maybe pick up some groceries. The one thing he did want to do was drop off some cookies at Dominique’s house. It was something he tended to do every now and then. A few years before he’d been at Hogwarts and turned down a hallway only to find her unconscious on the ground. He hadn’t been able to wake her up and he’d sort of freaked out. This was the one girl he’d never been able to get off his mind so long as he’d known her. So he’d picked her up and rushed her to the hospital wing. As he was leaving, so her parents and her wouldn’t know it was him who had found her, he overheard the nurse say she had low blood sugar brought on by bulimia. Since then he’d tried to keep an eye on her weight, any time she started looking too thin or sick he’d drop off cookies at her place. He never left a note, and tried not to let her know it was him. They were sort of friends, but not really. It was a weird relationship. Especially since she was a Weasley, and he was a Lestrange. He may not be the best pureblood son, but he still had some ideas about blood purity his parents had managed to make stick. Being attracted to a Weasley was out of the question. But there was no denying he was. He’d been trying to do it for years with no success. Generally he just tried not to think about her, or distract himself with other girls. But now that she worked at the ministry of magic it was proving next to impossible.
Grabbing the plate of cookies he’d baked the day before he put them into a bag. He’d spotted Dominique early in the day on Friday and he’d thought she looked a little too thin. So he’d come home and baked. Kaden, surprisingly, was actually a very good cook. Smirking to himself he thought about all the times that that had come in handy with girls. He didn’t even need to make them anything, just the knowledge that he could cook usually was enough to help his cause. Not that he overly needed it. Grabbing his wand and wallet Kaden threw on a pair of sunglasses and apparated to a corner near Dominiques house. Taking in a breath he looked around. He was near a small coffee shop near her house and the smell of coffee was actually quite intoxicating to his still tired brain. Closing up the bag of cookies he started walking towards the shop. As he turned the corner he saw someone in the shop struggling with the door and he moved to open right as they got it open finally. Stepping back he waited for them to exit so he could go in. The sun shone bright in his eyes, evne through the sunglasses, so he blinked to try and clear his vision. As he was still fighting off the sun he heard his name, uttered in a tone of surprise. Instantly recognizing the voice he subconsciously clutched the bag of cookies tighter. Blocking the sun with his hand he felt no less blinded when he looked at Dominique. ”Dom? Hey what are you doing here?” he asked trying to act surprised to see her. Inwardly cursing he moved more into the shade so he could look at her properly. But it only served to make his mouth go dry. Swallowing he tried to keep his usual smirk on his face as he waited for her answer.

The man before her, could quite literally steal her breath away without even trying. The feelings he made her feel intensified whenever he smiled, which seemed to only happen on his good days. Dominique had known Kaden long enough to know he had both good and bad days, she may not know the reason behind it completely but she tended to avoid him on his bad days. Mainly because it didn't end well for either of them. He was one of the only men who could make her feel like kissing him one second and then throttling him the next. It definitely kept her on her toes, but she hated the uneasy feeling he made her feel. She refused to put a name to that feeling, never really admitting just what she felt for this fine specimen of a man. Their relationship was complicated enough without adding any feelings into the mix. Everyone knew that they really shouldn't be talking, let anyone friends of any kind. After all she was a Weasley and proud of it, while he was a Lestrange, a member of one of those pureblood elitist families that Dominique was not a fan of. Yet it never failed to go unnoticed to her that she always wanted to impress the man in front of her. Whether it was in the way she looked or simply something she did, she enjoyed his approval. It was sickening really.
Dominique honestly felt like pinching herself though because it wasn't every day that you would catch Kaden Lestrange in her neck of the woods, at least not to her recollection. Out of nervous habit she reached up and tucked some hair behind her ear, subconsciously wondering if what she was wearing was good enough. It was a bad habit that she was finding hard to break, but at least she had managed to break the harmful part. In Kaden's presences Dominique chalked her thoughts up to typical girl behaviour. A girl wanting to make sure she looked good in front of a guy as good looking as Kaden Lestrange. The one thing she would admit to herself was that she was attracted to him. Any girl who wasn't a lesbian or blind would be. He was that perfect height, where he didn't tower over her but would be at just the right height to wrap his arms around her from behind. He had an amazing body, something she knew due to sneaking a few peeks whenever he was practising Quidditch at Hogwarts shirtless. Honestly, he had abs amazing enough that she often had rather naughty thoughts about them. His hair was just the right length to run your fingers through and his eyes, merlin she really couldn't even find a word to explain them. His smirk is sexy but his smile is something else completely. Of course, this was all thoughts she kept strictly to herself. Never ever sharing them with the man himself. Unable to keep her eyes from trailing, she couldn't help but take him all in. He looked incredibly good, as he usually did. Biting down upon her lower lip as her eyes searched for his beneath his sunglasses.
Raising her eyebrow at his question, she truly couldn't help but smile. "I was just going to ask you the same thing." Dominique countered, adjusting the bags in her hands so she wouldn't loose her grip. "i live just down the street, was just doing some shopping." though she felt that was probably a given since she was currently carrying several bags full of fresh food. "the market had quite the selection of fresh herbs and vegetables." unsure of why she was explaining herself she mentally shook her head and felt herself blushing. "doing some shopping yourself I see." Dominique commented, nodding towards the one bag he had in his hands. Either he was just starting out, or he had magically sent all his stuff back to wherever it was he was living. "i don't want to keep you though if you were meeting someone..." her voice trailed off, though she was cursing herself for her statement. Not really wanting to seem like she was seeing if he was with someone. It made no sense to Dominique, that whenever she saw Kaden with another female she had this irrational urge to slap said girl silly. Though she would have a mighty sore hand if she did that, considering she saw him with a new chick quite frequently.
Seeing the way he was attempting to block the sun from his view Dominique moved slightly to the side so they were both in the shade. Part of her wanted to offer to get a table, but if he truly was with someone else that would be extremely awkward. It was quite weird how when Kaden had his good days she always found herself quite awkward around him but on his bad days, she was confident and sassy. It would never make sense to her, much like the man in front of her wouldn't either. He was a bundle of contradictions but Dominique found she enjoyed having a decent conversation with him as much as she enjoyed sparring with him. He always made her heart race within her chest and that only multiplied when they got into an argument to the point that she would often feel light headed when they were done. Raising her drink up to her lips she took a small sip, releasing a breath on a sigh. Happy to have the chance to seem as though she was enjoying her drink when really she was trying to calm down her racing heart. Tracing her tongue out over her lips, to make sure she didn't leave a mess behind after her sip. Today was definitely turning out to be a lot more interesting then she thought it would be.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 363636; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]you’re the broken one but i’m the only one who needed saving. Kaden tried not to let himself get to flustered standing in front of Dominique. It was hard though, not only did he fail to get flustered around her just about every time he saw her but he hadn’t been expecting to see her today. Maybe that was naive of him. He was in her neighborhood after all, pretty much steps from her place. But he hadn’t had this problem yet. He’d dropped cookies off at her place a few times already and never been caught. So far as he knew. Her neighbour he though had seen him a couple times. But he was banking on the fact that Dom wasn’t super close to them yet. Swallowing just slightly he hoped she couldn’t tell his mouth had just gone dry. Sometimes Kaden almost liked it better when he was around Dom and he was in a mood. At least then he could keep his head. He didn’t have trouble talking around her and he didn’t feel like a 13 year old boy with his first crush. Because that was exactly how he’d felt around her every normal day since he’d first seen her. At first, when he’d realized who she was, what she was, he’d put it all down to her being a veela. He assumed that her veela charms were making him act like an idiot, and not be able to think. As time went on though he had to think differently about it. There was no way veela charms could hang on this much for this long. No matter how much Kaden refused to admit this to himself in times like this it hit him anyways.
Smirking to himself as he noticed her eyes trail over him a bit Kaden felt a bit of his confidence and sense come back. He wasn’t stupid, he knew that girls found him attractive, but he was pretty damn sure Dom could only think of him as a good looking guy. A good looking guy who she hated, or well was friends with but hated too. Honestly it was all rather confusing. All the same he was happy he’d worn sunglasses. It was well known knowledge of every guy above the age of 12 that sunglasses aforded them the ability to stare at and check out girls without getting caught. Kaden allowed himself to fall to temptation and let his eyes trail over Dom. As a guy Kaden didn’t notice clothes so much, but he had to admit he liked the shirt she was wearing. It brought out the color in her admitedly beautiful eyes. Pair that, and a stunning smile, with a body to die for and you could understand why every guy walking past was taking the chance to catch a look.
Holding in a groan as Dom bit her lip Kaden noticed her shifting her bags. ”Here, why don’t we grab a table, if you’ve got no where to go right now.” he asked her as he grabbed a couple of her bags. Moving over to a table he waved at a waitress. ”I’ll grab one of those iced coffee drink things. Something sweet.” he told her winking as he took his sunglasses off. ”No I don’t need to meet up with anyone. Was just sort of wandering.” Smiling at the waitress as she brought out what must have been his drink Kaden gave her the money for it and took a cautious sip. It was rather tasty. Sitting back in his seat he relaxed a bit, pretending not to notice the number the waitress had written on his cup. Looking back to Dominique he smirked at her, ”So, how has miss. Dominique Weasley been?” he asked slumping further down in his chair as he fully relaxed.

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
Dominique felt quite relieved when he suggested grabbing a table, but that was over come by slight shock when he took a few of her bags. It always shocked her whenever he did something kind like that because for that split second she could almost forget what his last name was. "Thank you." she murmured, following him over to a table and setting the remaining bags down then taking a seat herself. Crossing her legs beneath the table it was moments like these that Dominique actually felt herself falling for the man across from her just a little bit. It wasn't that his last name bothered her, she had friends that were pureblood's after all, but she knew his family would explode if anything were to ever happen between them. Dominique had been raised the belief that family was everything and she refused to be the cause of any turmoil in any family. Not saying that Kaden was interested in anything more then their complicated relationship of course. Over the years that she knew Kaden, he would do the odd gentlemanly thing and she'd be completely blown away. It wasn't any grand gesture or anything but he would never hesitate to take something from her if it looked too heavy, whether it be her books or something else she was carrying. It always had the affect of making her feel special, even if it was only for a split second in time. Dominique had never met anyone like Kaden, who was capable of making her feel an abundance of different things without even knowing or trying. Which was saying something because Dominique met a lot of men on a daily basis. It was the whole Veela things, men really couldn't help it and would often go to great lengths to get her attention. That was the downside to being a Veela. Some girls would love that kind of attention but Dominique was sure she would never become accustom to it.
Anyone who really knew Dominique knew that she was quite the observant person. She noticed the small things and they were usually what mattered most to her. Sometimes, it was as much a curse as it was a blessing, like this minute for instances. The number that the waitress had placed on Kaden's cup didn't go unnoticed by her, and had her temper rising irrationally. Biting down upon her bottom lip to try and stop herself from doing anything rash, but failing miserably. Her hand raised and she called the waitress back over, placing on a fake smile. "Excuse me miss?" the french accent that Dominique had inherited from her mother started finding its way into her tone like it usually did when she was getting angry. "It seems you gave my friend here a cup from the trash. It has all these horrible numbers on it." Dominique pointed at the cup still looking up at the lady. "Now I know this establishment isn't exactly known for its classiness but I would hope he would get better service then this. The cup must be from the trash because it would be rather desperate of you if it was your phone number. Now tell me, does this man look like someone who requires the number of a desperate girl? That he would actually be interested in someone that desperate?" she questioned in a sickeningly sweet voice, raising her eyebrow at the girl. "Please replace my friends drink, with a fresh cup not affected by the trash at this place." giving the girl one more smile as she glared and grabbed Kaden's cup, returning with a fresh drink a few moments later without the number on it. Turning her attention back to Kaden she smiled a real smile, acting as though she hadn't just acted like a jealous girlfriend. "I take it by your tentative sip you've never had one of those before?" laughing softly since it wasn't hard to miss that he was quite out of place. "They definitely are an acquired taste but they get better when you learn how to order them." she teased him, raising her own drink to her lips and taking an enjoyable sip now that her hands were free.
"Kaden Lestrange just out wandering?" she smiled at the thought, considering she hardly ever seen him by himself. "No big plans on your day off?" she inquired curiously. "How are you liking your job?" though she may see him day in and day out didn't mean she always got the chance to talk to him. This was really the first time since she had discovered he worked at the Ministry that she really had the chance to ask him about it. "I have been well thank you." she answered him politely, noticing that he seemed to be getting more and more comfortable with each passing second. She envied him for being able to be so comfortable within himself, being able to relax just about anywhere. "Life is definitely keeping me on my toes." smiling since she was quite honestly happy about the way her life was going right now. She was healthy, had a place to call home and was making something of herself in her career choice. All she needed was someone to share that with, but she would find that eventually. "And how about you Mr Lestrange?" she returned the question, genuinely curious about how he was getting on. She could only imagine if her life was busy, what his life was like.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 363636; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]you’re the broken one but i’m the only one who needed saving. Nodding at Dom’s words of thanks for taking her bags Kaden just shrugged. Alecto may have done allot of shitty things while raising him and his siblings, but the one thing she had done somewhat right was instill in her boys manners. When it came to a lady you should always be a gentleman. Then again Alecto wouldn’t think a Weasley was a lady and that those rules didn’t apply to them. Kaden on the other hand thought differently. A lady was a lady in his opinion. Besides, the whole debinair gentleman schtick actually was the easiest way to pick up a woman he’d found. That or puppies. Kaden didn’t seem to need much help with it though if you looked at the fact that he’d just gotten a girls number by simply ordering a drink. Kaden kept an eye on Dom as he took a sip. He was interested to see if there’d be any reaction from her. Kaden didn’t delude himself into thinking she actually had feelings for him, after all she was a Weasley and he was a Lestrange. But not only that, she was a damn Veela. She could have any guy she wanted. All she’d have to do would be flip her hair and half the men in the coffee shop would fall out of their chairs. He wasn’t sure how he felt about that though. Sure he’d already established that his own feelings, no matter how much he denied them to himself, were completely not related to her being a Veela. At first that may have been what struck him about her and caught his attention. But it had moved way past that.
As she raised her hand and called the waitress back over Kaden raised an eyebrow. Trying to hold in his laughter as she let the waitress have it Kaden could tell she was pissed when her accent started getting heavier. He’d been on the receiving end of that accent too many times not to know when she was pissed that it grew heavier. If she lapsed into french completely then watch out, you’d probably be cursed next. Looking at the shocked, embarassed and equally pissed look on the poor waitresses face Kaden just about lost it. If it wasn’t for the fact that he found it so preposterous Kaden would almost think that Dom had been jealous. He’d never really had a girlfriend but what she’d just done almost seemed like something a jealous girlfriend would do. As the waitress slammed his new drink down and stomped away Kaden couldn’t hold his laughter any more. Bending over he actually slapped his knee as he let the laughs shake him. Shaking his head and wiping a tear away he looked at Dom. ”Oh no you’re not changing the subject that easily Weasley!” he told her grinning. ”That was the finest display of sweetheart bitchiness I’ve ever had the pleasure to whitness. You could almost be a Slytherin with that, and I do mean that as a compliment mind you. I tip my hat to you miss.” he told her nodding his head in a mock bow. He really was impressed. He’d seen her pissed off, but the sweet but bitchy deal was a first. He had to admit he’d found it kind of hot in a weird way.
”Actually it’s quite tasty. Some sort of caramel syrup or some other such deliciousness in there.” he told her taking another appreciative sip. ”No, no plans. Just recovering from a hangover and getting ingredients for the roast I’m cooking for my sister.” he told her. The thing people always seemed shocked about was the fact that Kaden was actually a good cook. He enjoyed cooking and baking. And quite often his sister would make it out to his place for a nice meal. Sometimes his brother would come too, but that was less often. Usually is his brother came out it was only when Kaden knew Sky wouldn’t be there. Kaden’s sister and brother had never gotten along well. Kaden had always been the peace maker and mediary between them. He loved both his siblings, but he was a bit closer to Sky. Largely because they had similar beliefs. ”Work has been good. I’m actually loving my job. It’s nice feeling like I’m doing some good, as well as something exciting and a little dangerous,” he replied winking, ”What about you? How is your job going so far? Is that what’s keeping you on your toes?” he asked her drinking more of his coffee. He actually wished he could pull out some of the cookies he’d made as one would taste very good with the caffeeine. Allowing himself a quick look Kaden tried to see how Dom was looking. She looked healthy, and she was drinking a coffee too, but she did look very thin. He knew that was probably just him seeing that, but he thought she looked thinner. Maybe her job was getting her a bit stressed. Waiving over another waitress, as their other one seemed to dissapear, Kaden looked back to Dom, ”How about some food? Two menus please.” he asked her and the waistress almost at once.
”I’ve been good. Busy, but enjoying life. It might get a bit more hectic soon, but for now it’s good.” Kaden replied. He knew that his mother had been spotted at the manor of one of thier Death Eater friends the other day. His friend had let him know she’d stopped in to see their parents. That meant that she could be flying back into his life any day now. He was not looking forward to it. The only saving grace was that Sky was safely tucked away at Hogwarts. Alecto couldn’t reach her there. And Kaden wasn’t scared of her any more. It had been about 3 years since he’d last seen her, 3 years since he’d last found out she had hurt Sky. Kaden had promised himself that if she ever tried to touch him or Sky again he would kill her. He had absolutely no qualms about killing the woman who’d given birth to him. She’d never been his mother. He’d never referred to her as anything but Alecto, even when he was first learning to talk. She was a dark, twisted, evil woman. And he resented her for turning him into the split person he was. He would dance a jig on her grave the day she died. That may be a dark thought, but it was true.

Reacting to the waitress had been something that she hadn't thought through obviously. For if she had she would have remembered that the guy across from her knew her quite well. Meaning that he knew the signs that she was getting angry, after all he had been on the receiving end of some of her rants. Hearing his laughter though was almost like music to her hears. She never really heard it enough and it caught her off guard every time. Smiling at him she leaned back in her chair, truly hoping that he would just let it pass. Of course it wouldn't be Kaden if he did so he brought it up. Feeling a blush creep into her cheeks she looked down at her nails, biting down upon her bottom lip. "Luckily for you I am going to take that as a compliment Lestrange." she smiled, bring her eyes back up to his the blush still tinting her cheeks. "It was simply disgusting that is all. Honestly that girl was a muggle, the mere fact that she even thought she had a chance with you was preposterous. Granted she might not know you or your family but a guy who looks like you would never waste his time on a girl like that. Not even if he was desperate." Dominique realized that she had basically just told him he was attractive but she hardly doubt she was the first girl to do so. "I was just saving her the tube of ice cream for later. Merlin knows she could do without it." Slapping her hand over her mouth as that comment come out, she was horrified with herself. She was never really the type to make fun of anyone, at least not so bluntly anyways. "You are truly a bad influence Kaden." she laughed, shaking her hand at herself though the smile didn't leave her lips. Her comments were all in good nature, but it was true. He was truly becoming a bad influence on her, oddly enough she didn't mind it either. Brushing her hair away from her face she eyed his drink and smiled. "Its usually caramel, sometimes with vanilla. They really are delicious. Especially when they have the real whipped cream on top. Home made ones are much better though." as quick as it was to grab one from a shop, Dominique preferred to get hers from home. She loved making them and they always went well with the endless supply of chocolate chip cookies she seemed to have. "Of course, if your really looking to complete the drink you need to have a home made chocolate chip cookie." just thinking about those cookies had her hungry and pouting ever so slightly. She had no idea who brought them to her and at first she had been cautious when eating them, but honestly they were the best cookies she had ever had. "Hangover? Someone out celebrating last night?" Dominique nearly cursed her curious nature. What he did at night time was hardly her business and she wasn't truly sure if she really wanted to know.
"You cook?" she hadn't meant for that to come out as she shocking as it did but she was honestly surprised. Even though she could easily picture Kaden in a kitchen, he didn't exactly seem like the type to fit in there. "Sorry. I don't mean to seem shocked, you just don't strike me as the type to enjoy spending hours in the kitchen." Biting down on the corner of her lip tentatively because she didn't want to insult him. He was probably a great cook and she really didn't want to ruin how this day was going. "That's nice of you to cook for her though. I am pretty sure my siblings would burn down the kitchen if they tried such a thing." They may have been Weasley's but not all the girls inherited their grandmother's genes and could burn water. Taking a sip of her drink while he talked about his job, Dominique could understand how he felt. It was the same feeling she had when she was at work. "I can just imagine the adrenaline that must run through your system, bet that keeps it interesting!" she knew that she got the slightly jolt of adrenaline when she thought about the tasks she would do once she was a full Hit Witch. "Its important to love what you do I think. Or else life would be miserable and who really wants that for the rest of their lives?" she shrugged her shoulders softly. She could never understand why people would do things because someone else wanted them too, rather then do what they wanted. Her parents had always encouraged her to do what she wanted and they were impressed with her choice. Of course Fleur was concerned as well, but that was a normal mother reaction. "Training is exciting! Always something new to learn, feels like I'll never really know it all. Or at least remember it all." Dominique replied, since it really was a lot to take in but that was the rush of it all. "All these techquines and everything definitely keep me on my toes. Plus the hours. It all takes some getting used too." It was a big change from Hogwarts that was for sure, but it was a welcomed change.
Dominique was actually quite thankful that Kaden had asked for two menus, noticing of course that they had a new waitress. "I am actually getting a bit hungry." taking the menu that was offered to her, opening it and quietly looking it over. Enjoying a coffee with Kaden was one thing, having food with him felt oddly date like and had Dominique suddenly rather nervous. It wasn't that she didn't eat around guys, she normally didn't care, but Kaden was hardly just some normal guy. Twirling a piece of her hair around her finger as she looked over the menu debating on what she should get, trying to rationalize why she felt so nervous. It was just enjoying some food with a friend, nothing more. That was the only sentence repeating through her mind several times over, and it was the only thing currently keeping her calm. "Expecting things to pick up at work?" she asked, keeping up with the conversation while she looked. "Or just expecting something else?" She didn't want to seem like she was prying but she was curious what he had meant. "If you ever need a place to escape it all, I just live around the corner from here you can always pop in." the words escaped her lips before she had a chance to think about them. She had never invited anyone over other then family and Danica, and Kaden wasn't just anyone. "Its not much, but I am pretty sure it would be the last place someone would come looking for you." taking a moment, she looked over the menu at him wanting to gauge his reaction to her words. It had caught her off guard so she could only imagine what he would be thinking. "See anything interesting that you want to order?" Dominique asked him, nothing really catching her attention but maybe she had missed something. Usually she just got her cold drinks here and had never really taken a look at their food menu but their selections weren't the best. Heck, she could make more with what she had in her bags but she was pretty sure inviting him back to her place would be a bad idea.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 363636; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]you’re the broken one but i’m the only one who needed saving. If Kaden didn’t know better he would think he was starting to have a bad influence on Dominique. She’d always been this sweet, innocent girl. Ok well maybe that was going a bit far, but compared to him she had been. It wasn’t a coincidence that his conscience sounded remarkably like her. And now here she was being as much of a bitch as any Slytherin girl he knew. The comment about the girl being a muggle was what really threw him though. Since when did a Weasley think that made a difference? Or maybe she just figured that for a Lestrange it would. And if that was true Kaden almost felt hurt by how little faith she had in him. Hell she should know he wasn’t a Lestrange in the way everyone assumed, he hung out and was civil to her wasn’t he? That right there should show that he wasn’t like those other pureblood elitist gits. The fact she might actually think that was actually kind of pissing him off, but he fought to control his emotions. If Kaden let himself get upset by that then he would probably slip into his other personality and there would go this nice conversation they were having. Taking a drink of his coffee to disguise the flash of pain and anger in his eyes he looked back at Dom, his eyes once again their cool, calm emotionless state. ”I will also take that as a compliment Weasley.” he commented nodding his head to her. At her comment about the tub of icecream he had to chuckle and shake his head, ”I must say I agree, I am turning into a bad influence on you Dominique. That poor girl didn’t know what she was getting into obviously,” he told her grinning slightly.
At her mention of the cookies Kaden almost choked on the last sip of coffee he was taking. Clearing his throat he kept his eyes from looking at the package by his feet. ”Oh ya? Hmm wish I knew how to bake cookies in that case.” he replied not quite meeting her eyes. ”Not celebrating, just a casual night out with friends that got a bit more out of hand then expected.” he replied casually. Really it was true. The reason it had gotten out of hand though was because his friend had told him his mother was back in the country, and then his brother had shown up. The one two punch was what had set him off on the drunk train. Kaden didn’t have a drinking problem, he just tended to need to drink to deal with his family issues. Some days it was the only way to get his other personality to cool down. If he polished off a bottle of firewhiskey and passed out when he woke up he’d be back to his normal, happy if hungover self. Last night hadn’t been one of those nights. Luckily he hadn’t had an episode in almost a month. It actually had him a bit on edge. He never could quite tell when he was going to go over that edge, or what would set him off. So the fact it had been so long had him apprehensive, it could happen at any time. Most likely when he saw his mother. He knew there was no avoiding her. He could try, but why waste the effort when she would find a way to slink in and ruin his life. For all he knew she had eyes on him now, and he’d be getting it for slumming with a Weasley. Part of him thought that if he knew she was somehow watching him he’d love nothing more then to grab Dom and kiss her. Just to see if that would give the old goat a heart attack. Then again, he often had the urge to grab Dom and kiss her, and not to piss Alecto off, just because the his feeligns threatened to overwhelm him sometimes. Like right now. ”Yes I cook, and no offence taken. Most people assume I’m not one who would know how. Growing up with cooks and house elves I didn’t need to. I just always liked the smell in the kitchen so I spent allot of time there growing up.” he told her smilling. It had also been one of the few places he knew Alecto would never go. It had been the best hiding spot.
Nodding along with her talk of work Kaden had to agree. Some days he didn’t know how he kept up with it all. Luckily his part of the job didn’t have much paperwork involved. He was the guy out there doing thigns, sometimes he’d have to write a report if something went wrong, or stand in on a trial. But for the most part he just found the werewolves, subdued them and brought them back to the ministry. Failry simple and straight forward, yet exciting all at the same time. ”Ya it seems I never have a dull day, except if I have to be in on a trial. Those can get a bit boring. I like being out doing something, not stuck inside. Always have.” he commented to her as he finished the last of his coffee off. ”No just, some other things.” he told her avoiding the question and her eyes. Most people assumed that his parents were both dead, partially because that’s the story him and his siblings stuck too. It was just easier. It wasn’t that they were trying to protect them, it was that they really didn’t know. For all he knew his father really was dead, he hadn’t seen him in years. Alecto though, well she was like a cockroach, she’d never die. At her offer Kaden brought his eyes back up to her’s to scrutinize her to see if that had been a ligitimate offer. She looked alittle shocked to have said it, but from her next words it was clear she meant it. It actually really touched Kaden that she would offer her place as a hideout for him without even knowing what he might be hiding from. [color33ee88]”You’re probably right on that Dom, thank you. I really appreciate the offer.”
|
[/color] he told her gently as he reached across and gripped her hand briefly in thanks. The second his hand touched her’s though he’d wished he’d stuck to just nodding his thanks. It was like a bolt of electricity shot through him at that contact. Keeping his face blank and friendly with an extreme effort of will he quickly pulled his hand back and picked up his menu. Using it as a cover he took a few quick breathes and swallowed hard. He didn’t know if it was the combination of him being thankful for her offer and the touch, or if it was the fact they were sitting here about to pretty much have a date that had done it. But something had set him off almost. If he hadn’t spent so many years working on controlling his emotions he might have just reached across the table and kissed her right then and there. Finally thinking he had control of himself he looked back over the menu at her, ”Well not going to lie I have no idea what to order. This club sandwich on sourdough sounds good though.” he replied, ”what about you?” he asked her looking over at her. Part of him wanted to see if there was any reaction from her at him grabbing her hand. [/div] words 1,296 | tagged; Dom | done [/center][/td][/tr][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
As the words that Dominique had said to Kaden processed through her mind, she immediately felt bad. It wasn't the whole muggle thing that had her thinking Kaden wouldn't be interested in her in all honesty. She truly just thought the last thing he'd be interested in was a girl who was so obviously that desperate. Unless of course that was what he was looking for. Though now she was just truly confusing herself. "Kaden I need to apologize for my remark. About the waitress being a muggle. I didn't mean it like it came out. Its not the fact that she is a muggle as to why you wouldn't be interested in her. I don't really think that. It was the whole obvious desperateness that I thought might turn you off." she rambled, obviously nervous because she truly didn't want to ruin the pleasant time they were actually having. "it would be rather hypocritical of me to believe such a thing, considering we are having a pleasant conversation and to some pureblood families anything with the last name Weasley is just as bad as a muggle." scrunching up her nose and shaking her head, she looked away from him fully embarrassed now. Not only because she was sure he had gathered an aweful assumption from her remark. Also because she couldn't exactly quite put into words why she had reacted the way she had. It had clearly been out of jealousy but admitting that would open a whole other prospect that she really didn't want to dive to deep into. "I do hope you can forgive me?" bringing her attention back to the man across from her, she smiled softly. Today had been going so well, she really hoped she didn't just mess everything up. Some times she really needed to remind herself to think before she opened her mouth. Around Kaden though, words just seemed to slip out of her mouth before she had a chance to realize what she was saying. It was a bad habit. Laughing softly at his remark, she felt a blush cover her cheeks. "I probably should leave some kind of tip for the poor girl, huh?" Dominique commented, picking up her own drink and taking another sip.
"I can bake some things but these cookies are way better then anything I can make." She told him, unaware that she was talking to the person who made them for her. It was most unfortunate that she had just run out so she couldn't even offer to let him taste one. Of course those cookies were one of those things that she really didn't like sharing too often, though she was sure she could make an exception for Kaden. "I just really knew who made them, they just randomly show up at my door step." Shrugging her shoulders slightly, it no longer worried her who was making them for her because obviously they hadn't killed her by now. "A casual night out is always good." Dominique agreed, though she got a feeling that it was much more then that. After all the years she had known Kaden, she was getting rather good at picking up when he was evading the truth. "I do hope the consequences weren't too bad? Hangover obviously hasn't kept you in bed this morning." she pointed out. It really wasn't any of her business what went on in his life and though she knew that it didn't make her any less curious. As much as she knew about Kaden there was still a lot that remained a mystery. "Usually casual drinks don't turn into more without a reason though." she commented, trying to be casual about it but it was quite obvious that she was curious. Maybe a bit more curious then she really ought to be. "I don't want to pry, but is everything okay?" she really just wanted him to know that he could talk to her if he wanted too. That's what friends were for right? "That's my favourite part about cooking too. All the delicious smells, that normally result in making you more hungry." honestly if she didn't stop talking about food Dominique was pretty sure her stomach would rumble loud enough for him to hear. "What is your favourite thing to cook?" these were the puzzle pieces of Kaden that she really wanted to put into place. Every time she came across him she seemed to learn something new about him, and there wasn't much she didn't like about him. Even his moods, as awful as they could be, they also excited her.
Laughing softly at his comment, she knew this to be true. Though they didn't have many classes together due to the fact that he was older then her, Dominique knew he hated being cooped up indoors. "One of the few things that haven't changed about you I see." Dominique smiled across the table at him. There were a few things about Kaden that had changed, more in the looks department then anything. She honestly didn't think he could become more attractive then he was at Hogwarts but she had been proven wrong. She also couldn't help but notice that he seemed to find his happy place, or at least he wasn't switching moods as much anyways. Perhaps things in his life were finally content enough for him, and Dominique was honestly happy for him. "Being out there actually doing something makes you feel as though you've accomplished so much more for the day. Where as paper work and trails is the opposite. I completely agree. The paper work is by far my least favorite part of the job, but it definitely comes in handy on rainy days." setting the menu down in front of her, even though she had yet to decide on what she wanted. Dominique wasn't a big fan of getting rained on unless it was something that happened out of the blue. Since her full attention was honestly on Kaden, Dominique didn't miss the way he avoided eye contact with her. Tilting her head slightly to the side she raised her eyebrow at him, knowing full well that he wasn't telling her the truth or he was evading telling her something. "I would hardly be the person to push you to talk Kaden, but if you ever need too you know I am here right?" She asked him, being completely and utterly honest. Their relationship may be more then a bit complex but if he ever needed her Dominique was pretty sure she'd drop just about anything for him.
"You-You're-" words escaped Dominique the moment his hand came into contact with her. It was honestly such a school girl reaction but it was one that Dominique couldn't prevent. Her eyes immediately went to their hands, as jolts of what felt like heat mixed with electricity shot up her arm. Swallowing hard she forced her eyes back to him. "You don't have to thank me, everyone deserves somewhere that is a safe haven to escape too." Her voice was soft and shook a little bit from all the emotions that were rushing through her. It felt like every one of her nerve endings were connected to that single touch and her heart was racing inside her chest. It was a crazy reaction to just a mere touch, but honestly it was just the affect he had on her. She could cover it up easy enough when he was in arms reach but when he actually touched her, whether by mistake or on purpose, her whole body was completely aware of him. Everything inside her was always attuned to him, ever since their first encounter. She knew the moment he walked into a room because she could just feel the difference in the air. Though she was quite sure she was the only one feeling anything right now. Her eyes took in his features and tried not to show too much disappointment when he took his hand away. Her fingers still tingled as she moved her hands into her laps and looked down. "Honestly?" forcing everything she was feeling to the side, she brought her gaze back to him. "I think I have a better idea." doing her best to make sure she didn't shake when she placed the menu back on the table, she smiled. "How about we walk back to the market, pick out a few things and make something back at my place?" it was a bold offer, she knew this but she needed an opportunity to take a breath. "You can prepare your best dish and I can prepare mine, then we'll swap notes." looking over at him, she hoped he liked her suggestion. Dominique was sure that they'd be fine cooking together because in her mind she seemed to be the only one affected at the moment. Besides, what could really go wrong? She trusted Kaden not to blow her apartment up.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: 363636; width: 370px; padding-top: 30; padding-bottom: 30;]you’re the broken one but i’m the only one who needed saving. Hearing the obvious panic and nervousness in Dom’s voice after what she’d said Kaden felt a little ashamed for getting pissed at it. He had to know she wouldn’t think anything like that. He wondered why she’d even said anything. He’d understand a remark about the girl being desperate, but that full blown bitching out of the waitress confused him. Why would she feel like she needed to do that? It certainly wasn’t just because she felt Kaden wouldn’t be interested. Maybe that was part of it, but it wasn’t all of it. There was a rather large part of Kaden’s mind trying to tell him that it was because she was jealous. But that was the wishful part of Kaden’s brain. The part that wished she did like him in that way, and that he would admit to himself that he liked her too. But the practical side of his mind knew even if both of those were true it didn’t mean anything. He couldn’t act on it, or rather he wouldn’t. He may not consider himself a Lestrange much, or at all, but there was still the fact he was from a pureblood family and she was a Weasley. It didn’t mean a thing to him, but it would mean allot to quite a few people. Alecto foremost. She would never tollerate one of her children being with a Weasley. She would rather kill them then let that happen. Or kill the Weasley they were with to prevent it. Which was why Kaden could never let anything happen with Dom if it looked like it would. Because Alecto wasn’t the only one. There were many others as well. And he would never let them hurt Dom. ”Of course. Nothing to forgive. It is rather a big turn off when a girl throws herself at you. No respect for themselves.” he reasured her smiling over his cup.
Seeing the slight blush creep over her cheeks he had to hold in a chuckle. It wasn’t often she got embarassed and it was always a small victory to him to see it, even though he doubted he had much to do with it. Trying to not look completely panicked as she continued to talk about the cookies he coughed a little to cover his discomfort. ”Is it really wise to eat cookies that just show up?” he asked her, figuring that it was the rational thing to do. And really he had wondered if she’d ever been apprehensive about eating them when he left them. He’d thought about leaving a note but had been worried she’d recognize his handwriting. Some times he wondered why he was trying to be so secretive about it, he was sure she’d be relieved to know who left them. But if she knew the reason why he doubted she’d be to happy. He could gaurante she’d be mortified to find out that he knew about her eating disorder. That he’d been the one to find her passed out. Then again he’d be just as mortified if she found out how he’d freaked out when he’d found her. That was the moment that all his self denial about his feelings for her had started to crumble. You didn’t freak out like that when you found someone you just liked to annoy and torment. He’d never run so fast in his life as he had with her in his arms to the hospital wing. He’d never been so scared either, and that was saying something coming from his childhood. ”Ah I know a handy charm for hangovers.” he assured her waving a hand casually. Avoiding her eyes when she mentioned there being a reason he studdied his nails. ”Oh just some family stuff. Nothing I can’t handle.” he told her returning his gaze to hers, trying to smile through the lie. Reality was his family had already driven him to having a borderline personality disorder, if they drove him insane it would be no surprise to him.
”Easy, creme brûlée.” he answered her question easily. ”Sugar, yummy gooey stuff and flames... can’t get any better then that.” he told her laughing. What guy didn’t like flames? Seriously, even though it had one of the girliest names creme brûlée had to be the most manly thing to cook in Kaden’s mind. ”What about you?” he returned looking over the menu some more. He honestly couldn’t focus on the menu though. He had no idea what he was going to order. And being around Dom this long, having a nice pleasent conversation, was making his stomach tie up in knots. He didn’t even know if he was actually hungry. And there was the nagging feeling like disaster hanging over them. He didn’t know if it was his feelings about his other side coming out, or about his mother being back that was causing it. But something felt like this was a grenade about to go off. ”Nah, even on rainy days I’d rather be out in the rain. I don’t mind rain so much.” he admitted to her grinning a bit. He honestly just hated being cooped up that much. Seeing her tilt her head to the side Kaden silently cursed to himself. He knew she knew him enough to notice he wasn’t being honest. He wasn’t the best liar, unless it was to Alecto or a teacher. TO pretty girls, ya he was a horrible liar. ”I do know that Dominique. Thank you. But some stuff it’s better that you not know.” he said quietly. Cursing under his breathe he knew he shouldn’t have said that. Now, if anything, it was going to make her more curious. And he didn’t need that. Noticing how she stopped mid sentence as their hands touched Kaden looked at her hard. He didn’t miss the hard swallow she took before she met his eyes. Looking deep into her eyes Kaden tried to figure out what that reaction had been about. Had he just taken her by surprise? Or was there more to it. It was times like these that he wished he’d learned Occulemency even though their mother forbid it.
Coughing to hide his own discomfort from the after affects of their touch Kaden took refuge behind the menu again. ”I really do appreciate that Dominique, but I wouldn’t impose.” he told her politely turning his once again cool eyes to her. It took a supreme act of will power to keep from letting any of the emotions and thoughts racing through his mind cross his face. His face stayed perfectly friendly and poised. Blank. Just how he’d learned from his many ‘lessons’ with Alecto. Cocking an eyebrow at her suggestion Kaden had to admit that the thought of sharing a kitchen with Dom was... terrifying. It was an extremely homey thing to do, something a couple would do. And it scared the hell out of him, the prospect of doing something so domestic with her. With any girl other then his sister really. But he couldn’t very well refuse. She’d been extremely generous to him so far this encounter, the least he could do was go along. ”That sounds like a lovely idea! Shall we?” he asked setting his own menu down and standing. Taking his wallet out he threw down some muggle money and held his hand out to her to help her up.

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
Dominique gave a laugh at his statement about desperate girls and simply shook her head. "If I recall correctly, you have your fair share of experience with desperate girls. Weren't girls throwing themselves at your feet on a daily basis at Hogwarts?" she asked, though she knew fairly well that they were. Not that she could blame them really, but that was one opinion she kept to herself. Though most of the girls that threw themselves at him were of pureblood decent and his looks weren't the only reason they wanted him. It disgusted her really because they didn't even know him and yet they were all over him, like he was the last piece of chocolate cake or something. It didn't have anything to do with who he was but rather what his last name was. It was one of those pureblood things that Dominique would never understand, regardless of what her own blood was. Just because she was a Weasley everyone assumed that she didn't understand that world, but most usually forgot that Weasley's were pure as well. At least most of them were anyways. Dominique was one of those odd ones out, not because she was half blood, or muggle born or anything like that. She was unique because she was part Veela, something that was becoming incredibly rare as the world carried on. If she had taken on her mothers last name, Delacour, things would probably be much different but she wasn't ashamed of her last name. Never had been and never would be. The only downside to being a Weasley was that she couldn't have the one guy she actually had interest in, but she was sure one of these years she'd get over that. "Did it ever bother you?" Dominique asked him, speaking of the girls that were always all over him. "I don't mean any offence or anything, but didn't it bother you that some of those girls wanted you for what you could do for them rather then who you are?" of all people Dominique could understand if it did. After all, she had guys falling at her feet all the time because of her blood line and it drove her insane. Yet somehow she found a way to handle it. "I know it bothers me. The attention I get because of my blood line. Some girls would love it of course but I can't stand not being able to walk out of my apartment without a guy doing something grand or stupid to get my attention." she told him with a casual shrug of her shoulder. This was something she had never openly admitted and she wasn't sure why she had just told Kaden. "Even my trainer at work thinks I'll be able to apprehend the males easier then most because of my special little gift." rolling her eyes as she told him this, because this was something that bothered her big time. If she was going to be good at apprehending anybody she didn't want it to be because of her blood, she wanted it to be because she was good at her job.
At Kaden's question, Dominique actually had to resist the urge to smile. It was cute to think that he actually seemed concerned. "You know, at first I kind of wondered the same thing. I mean, the cookies could have been from anyone, right? They could have had anything in them I am sure but I don't know." this time she shrugged because she really couldn't explain why she trusted the cookies. "Nothing has went wrong as of yet. I haven't fallen madly in love with some stranger, nor have I gotten ill or worse died so at this point I can just assume its from someone I know." Dominique told him, though that really didn't explain why someone she knew would keep it a secret. "My family is quite large, and quite odd, so its probably just a family member doing something kind. Either that or I truly have a secret admirer out there, and that aspect is intriguing." smiling wistfully to herself, since the prospect was definitely one she could enjoy. "Though if it is a secret admirer, I really wish they'd just leave a message of some sort. A clue to who they are, so I could thank them." Dominique really didn't have high hopes of figuring out who it was though. They showed up at random times, so it wasn't as though she could stake a watch out on her own apartment. That could take forever and she most definitely didn't have that kind of time. "A hangover charm? Really? That's pretty impressive Kaden." its not that she was shocked he could come up with such a thing, it was just impressive to create your own charm. "Can't say I've ever drank enough to need one, but now I at least know that if I did I know who to contact." the whole drinking thing really wasn't Dominique's scene. Sure she liked to go out and have a good time, but she didn't need alcohol to do so. She loved to dance, but usually avoided doing so because it usually only ruined her night.
It was odd how much she worried about the guy in front of her, considering just who they were but she did. There was a day that went by that she didn't wonder how he was doing and the more they talked today it seemed there was something big going on in his life. She really wished she could help, but she didn't know how if he didn't want to talk about it. So against her better judgement she was going to leave it alone. "Coming from a family as large as mine, I understand. Family can be quite irritating sometimes, especially when both sides are rather stubborn. Mix red hair with a french temper and its not pretty. My grandparents are always at odds with one another." though she was sure it didn't relate in the least to his problems, she really was just trying to be his friend. "My best advice, is find somewhere that you can escape too. Where no one would go looking for you so you can just get away, but make sure someone you trust knows your there just in case." Dominique knew he didn't ask for advice but really she felt uncomfortable not being able to help him. Which only proved to her just how much she cared for him. Denying it was a futile thing, something she did but her heart knew better just as well as her brain did. Some how over the years Dominique had fallen for the Kaden that she had come to know. It wasn't because of how he looked, and it definitely wasn't because if his blood. It was just all him, even the mood changes he went through. She really wanted to help him, but a large part of her was sure he wouldn't accept her help even if she offered. Though offering may open the door to a whole bunch of other questions that she wasn't sure she was ready to answer. Upon hearing what his favorite dish to make was, Dominique could have melted on the spot. "You know it would be mean to tease a french girl, like myself, with saying you can make Creme Brule." she told him, licking her lips just at the mere idea of that yummy deliciousness. "It would be just plain cruel." she hadn't had decent Creme Brule in months. Ever since her last visit with her Grandma Delacour, who refused to give her the recipe until she passed away. "Its kinda a toss up. I make a mean Chicken Cordon Bleu, only I replace the Swiss Cheese with a handmade Mozzarella. I can also make crazy good bread, of any kind." that was one thing that Dominique never bought at a store because she always preferred to have fresh home made bread. She was pretty sure it was the French in her. Her cupboards were stocked with bread products while her fridge was filled with cheese and wine.
"Oh right, I should have recalled your love for the rain. If I am not mistaken, I remember a blond haired male chasing myself in the rain from the Black Lake in my sixth year. Though its more the falling in the mud that I remember, thanks to the slippery grass. It took me forever to get the mud out of my hair and that swimsuit was so ruined." Dominique could laugh about it now, but she had been furious then. It had been a Saturday and after a nice relaxing swim, she had been sitting on the shore in a pair of jean shorts and a blue one piece that might as well have been a two piece for all that it covered. She had stayed outside even though all the other students ran in because of the dark clouds that were coming in. Kaden had showed up out of no where and it had started pouring, and some how that had resulted in her attempting to run back to the Castle with him hot on her trail. She had tripped in the grass, proceeding in taking him down with her, on top of her and it had been a mess. She would never forget the feel of his body against hers, still couldn't forget, but instead of focusing on that she had focused on the mud that was covering her. She promptly through a fit, which only made Kaden laugh. They had agrued, she threw mud at him and things went from bad to worse. It was only one of the dozens of fond memories she had of him in the Hogwarts years. She was instantly pulled from her fond memory though at his words, and found herself frowning. "Its not good to keep things bottled up Kaden, but I'll respect your decision in not wanting to talk about it with me." she tried to sound casual but wasn't sure it worked. It was none of her business and she'd do well to remind herself of that, regardless of how it made her feel. She really wished she could just ignore the feelings of warmth that were running through her body, but it was getting increasingly difficult. All her mind wanted to seem to focus on was how badly, for years even, that she wanted to kiss him. Though she found the strength to refrain, because though his last name didn't matter to her, she knew it was just a bad idea. She really wanted just a spare moment to attempt to clear her head but wasn't sure that would be possible any time soon and who knew where that could lead her. Her stomach was tied in knots and her hands were shaky, something she wasn't used to feeling around any guy but Kaden. It had never been to this extreme either so she didn't know how to handle it.
"Its hardly imposing if I offer Kaden." she told him, doing her best to focus on their conversation rather then the turmoil going on inside her entire being. "You could sleep in my bed." the moment the words escaped her lips her eyes went large. "By that I mean, you could take my bed and I'd take the couch, not that we'd sleep together. I don't have a spare room, but my couch has a pull out bed that is extremely comfortable. No body else has really slept on it, aside from myself, nor has anyone slept in my bed aside from me." stopping herself before she could ramble any further, she felt completely flustered. All because of him, it was driving her insane. "Merlin." she whispered to herself, trying to gain control of herself before she made things more awkward then she could have just done. Especially since he was now agreeing to come share her rather small kitchen with her. They would be alone, in her apartment, cooking together. Something that was more meant for couples rather then their complicated relationship. She really couldn't shake the impending feeling of doom that she was getting but did her best to ignore it. Eyeing his hand as he stood and held it out to her, she debated with herself for a moment on whether to take it or not. If she didn't take it that would be rude, but if she did take it, she was sure to become more frayed then she already was. Her mother had raised her better though, so she did the polite thing and gently placed her hand in his. Doing her best to control her shaking limbs as she rose up out of her seat. The warmth from his hand was shooting straight to her stomach, making it fill with butterflies. Nor did she miss how incredibly close she was to him now and she was suddenly finding it very hard to focus on anything but him, including how to breath. Without much thought, she pressed up onto her toes and place a soft kiss on his cheek. "Thank you." she whispered, her words a bit shaken. Releasing his hand she reached up and wiped the lip gloss she had left behind off his cheek.
Turning away from him she bent down to retrieve her bags and took a minute to drag in a deep breath. Doing her best not to think about what she just did in a rather public place, and now feeling like she was going to throw up what little she had eaten this morning. "Um, its just this way." Dominique remarked, turning to look at him over her shoulder before stepping away from him and out onto the side walk, leading him towards the market. Her mind was racing, her heart felt like it was going to explode and the butterflies were doing somersaults in her stomach. Yet the only thing she kept thinking, was she was sure something was going to go wrong very soon because things had been going far to well this far.
